Feedback Session

I had a university feedback session showing my peers and tutors where I'm up to with my project so far. I showed my artist research, intentions and images that I've taken.

Overall everyone seemed engaged with my idea and understood what I've done so far and am thinking of doing later on. I was given a list of practitioners to look at, these are:

Fabian Oefner,
David Spero,
Ania Dabrowska,
Rosy Martin,
Kevin Newark.

It was also suggested that I find an OCD support group and sit in some of their sessions but I explained that I've tried to find one of these online but have had no success. One of my peers said it might be interesting to chat to a therapist as well as a sufferer, this is something I would like to do.

After showing my peers and tutors the photos I had taken around the home with the glow stick liquid resembling that of the microbes that would be found living upon these every day objects, the feedback was an overall positive thing but they did however say the toothbrush image was too literal and they preferred the more ambiguous sponge image. One of my peers said something that interested me, he said the sponge image was good because usually it's the germs that we can't see but in that image it's as though we can only see the germs and not the object itself. I like the idea of having the germs being the only visible element to the images so it's as though they've taken over the object so I will continue the series with this in mind.
