Inspiration - Newspaper Advert

I went to sit on the back seat of the bus and it was full of pages of the newspaper and the pages that I liked were an advert for Bulmers cider.

These pages caught my eye for obvious reasons, they're bright, bold and colourful which is always nice to find in a dull, black and white newspaper but what I liked about these especially was that the paint marks interacted with the bottles, they weren't over the top or underneath, they were involved. It looks as though the opacity of the bottles has been changed so that the paint comes through yet the important information on the bottles like the labels and the outline have stayed clear. I love getting messy with paints, especially easy to use and wash paint like poster paint. Experimenting with mixed media is something that interests me, the use of drawing, painting or text on or along side an image, to me, can give it something special, it becomes something more than an image, it can become personal and interactive. I'd like to experiment with mixed media. I could use paint to represent the germs on objects or people.
